Okay, first I want to explain a few things before i get into what this is.
I'm posting this here because it's not exactly a contest or duel, also I don't know how many want to do this.
Now for my idea,
I was thinking how I could start a contest-esque topic, since no one else was making one, then I remembered on comic fury the Gentleman's Brawl topics, and thought it would be an interesting thing to incorporate with sprites.
Of course the Gentleman's Brawl was all drawn out so it was easy to incorporate anyone, but since this is more intended to improve spriting abilities, it will all be in one style.
The format of this will be one person goes first, makes an attack against their opponent, and then the opponent retaliates. With these "attacks" the spriter has to make comic panels using the opponent's sprite and their own, for whatever base they choose to provide. It's fine to use no background, backgrounds from games, or make your own background for the panels in your attack.
With each move, the judge will grade the attack based on a few categories and then after a certain amount of turns, the one who has the most points will be the winner. As for the categories, I still don't have all of them figured out, I'm thinking originality(Using poses that haven't been shown and new types of attacks), appropriateness(the sprite is in style, and has correct proportions in that style), and i wanted two more categories but can't think of any for the moment.
The first one will mostly be a test and to see what issues will need to be fixed and what needs to be modified, so I would be the first judge.
Now is anyone interested in joining this experiment?
Feel free to point out anything you dislike or like about this, and to ask questions about it.
